What’s Been Happening in Paris

Spring Day in Paris

WEBSITE: NEW PARTNERS PAGE. The question we get asked most is, How Do I Choose a Hotel in Paris? Well, we hear ya, so we’ve now got a partner page on the website with links to our new business partner, TripAdvisor.com (the world’s largest travel portal) and to individuals and companies offering alternative accommodation to hotels (B&B’s and short and long-stay apartments). So visit this page often as we add new partners! We only recommend products/services that are known to us and have been tried and recommended by Nuit Blanchers. Visit the new Partners page here. Visit the FAQs page for our take on Paris hotels.

FRENCH PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: NAPOLEON RISING. More election fun in the final race for a new French President. In a recent interview on a local TV station, a clip was shown of poll leader Nicolas Sarkozy, known as ‘Sarko’ here, talking to a group of voters. The clip showed an attractive young woman bending down and saying in his ear, "Et en plus…vous sentez tres bon." (And also, you smell very good). Sarko responded with a huge grin. The world anxiously watches who will come out in front and you can get the North American take in this week’s ‘The Economist, featuring a Napoleon-like picture of Sarko on the cover. Loving it. COTE D’AZUR GAL GOES HOLLYWOOD. Last winter I talked about a down-to-earth, fun gal who had been living on the edge of poverty (but having beaucoup de ‘rich’ experiences!) in her grandmother’s French country house, hammering away at a screenplay. She snagged the interest of a major film producer at Cannes and voila, this year her project has gone full steam ahead and her story BUY BORROW STEAL is currently in production, starring Heather Graham no less. CONGRATS CAMILLA!! When I had met her last year, just at the time of the producer-snagging-interest, she greeted us at her home saying, "Welcome to my humble-before-I-get-rich-cottage." It’s this kind of ‘thinking from the end’ that will get you everything you desire. It’s true, it really works. One of the books I carry around the world with me at all times is Dr. Wayne W. Dyer’s "The Power of Intention." Go ahead, imagine l’incroyable, and don’t be too surprised when your wildest heartfelt dreams come true. Just be careful what you’re wishing for (wink).

FRENCH KISSES. I continue to be ever grateful for being able to share my Paris with fun and cool visitors from around the world. I am truly touched from the top of my gavroche to my toes….some recent comments …

"Are you kidding us girl? THIS IS YOUR LIFE??? How great is it?" Michele and Linda, Vancouver Hi Karen, Just wanted to jot you a note to let you know what fun I had with you on Thursday. I LOVE this city!!! I can see why you were swept away when you visited and decided to make the move. I have been very successful on the shopping spree, after our wonderful kick-off and your other suggestions. I did some good damage in the Nina Jacobs store that you had taken me to. I even ended up buying one of those boiled wool jackets like you have in the red color…people were swooping them up! Thank you again for a wonderful time together. Please keep in touch, and let me know when you come to NYC!! All the best, Ruth, New York City Just wanted to let you know that I am loving your ebook Just Paris. It’s Spring Break here so it’s not very busy in the office and am amusing myself reading it during quiet times! I so wish I had read it before we went to Paris last summer. …You sound like a woman after my own heart - I travelled last time with my 21 yr old son and his girlfriend and my 18 yr old daughter, none of whom drink alcohol (don’t know where I went wrong!) HOW I KNOW I AM IN PARIS. Because the French weather girls on the local news stations definitely know how to spice up the otherwise boring and mundane evening weather report with their sexy, fancy cocktail party type of dress, pas de probleme! The French Weather Girl Look: glamorous hairdos, fishnet stockings, tight dresses, strappy sandals, sparkly jewellery and beaucoup de cleavage. Go French girls!

BISOUS!
